I just received the book today and finished it by tonight but I enjoyed the book about thebig bad man who in the end was lonely and would do anything to get some love by a young man. I liked it and hopefully you will too. Lots of sex scenes in this book.

illustrations sparse but the story is thoughtful

The illustrations leave something to be desired -- much less detail than I am used to with this sort of book but better than some of the poorly drawn things I have seen. The story too is rather sparse in terms of words but the panels and the events are rather intense. I had hoped things would be a bit more S&M than it was but overall I was pleased.

About the Author
Uzodinma Okoroanyanwu is a Senior Member of Technical Staff in the Technology Research Directorate of GlobalFoundries, a subsidiary of AMD. Since joining AMD in 1997, his research interests have spanned KrF-, ArF-(dry and immersion), F2-, EUV lithographic process technologies, organic electronics, and electrochemistry. He was a research scientist (on assignment from AMD) at IMEC in Belgium between 2002 and 2004, at Physikalische Chemie Fachberi, Universitat Oldenburg, Germany in 2001, and in Fujistu Laboratories in Mie, Japan in 1998. He has published over 100 scientific and technical papers covering fundamentals of resist materials science and technology, resist process integration in device manufacture, microlithography, polymer chemistry and physics, gas phase kinetics, organic electronics, and electrochemistry. He holds 26 U.S. patents. A two-time recipient of AMD s Corporate Technical Achievement Award, as well as a recipient of the Semiconductor Research Corporation Technical Excellence Award, he is a member of American Chemical Society, American Association for the Advancement of Science, and Society of Photo-Imaging and Instrumentation Engineers. He holds the following degrees from The University of Texas at Austin: Ph.D. in physical chemistry (1997), M.S. in chemical engineering (1995), M.A. in physical chemistry (1994), B.S. in chemistry and chemical engineering (1991).

Cynthia M. Gonzales is an Education Specialist at Ygnacio Learning Center in Walnut Creek, California and was Director of Education at Walnut Creek Hospital from 1985–1998.

About the Author

Manuel G. Gonzales is professor of History at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, California. A specialist in both Modern Europe and the American Southwest, he has been teaching the history of Mexicans in the United States since 1971. Dr. Gonzales received a PhD in Modern Italian History from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1972. He was a visiting professor of Chicano history in the Ethnic Studies department at UC Berkeley in 1993. He has published three books: Andrea Costa and the Rise of Socialism in the Romagna (1980), The Hispanic Elite of the Southwest (1989), and Mexicanos: A History of Mexicans in the United States (1999).

Cynthia M. Gonzales is an Education Specialist at Ygnacio Learning Center in Walnut Creek, California. A credentialed instructor, she has been teaching K-12 students since 1969. Ms. Gonzales received a BA in History from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1966 and a MA in Educational Administration from St. Mary's College of California in Moraga in 1996. She was Director of Education at Walnut Creek Hospital from 1985-1998.

I really just wanted the sheet music to Pasta Blues but this contains an amazing collection of Joe's work. The sheet music is as accurate as anything I've seen. The TAB supplied is very good as well, although in a number of places I can find fingerings for the same passages that work much better for me. I purchased this book for my husband, so I will let him review...

Highly recommend if you want to undertake the challenge to learn what Joe Pass was playing. The 16th and 32nd note flourishes are all there, now there is the problem of playing them. Anyway, a great book for learning chord melody playing, in the style of Joe Pass. This will challenge any guitar player.

Grade 2-3-Arthur's picture-book fans who are ready for an increased reading challenge will embrace these books, and those who enjoy the PBS TV show will no doubt recognize the same quality in the book version. The young aardvark needs to come up with a winning jingle for The Crunch Cereal Contest, but his attempts fall short until he is inspired by a little ditty he overhears D. W. hum. He sends in his entry, only to struggle with feelings of not being altogether honest. In the end, he proves he is a winner in both ability and integrity. In Arthur Makes the Team, Arthur has difficulty learning all of the nuances of baseball. His main problem is the ball-it simply will not cooperate with his mitt. Francine's constant criticism is a big obstacle, too, but they manage to overcome their conflict by realizing that team members need to help one another on and off the field. The story lines are simple and the plots move along at a smooth, entertaining pace. The subtle humor is right on target for the intended audience. The characters are fully developed and interact well together. The black-and-white illustrations provide a nice break for readers moving into chapter books.

About the Author
Marc Brown, who was born in Erie, Pennsylvania in 1946, received great encouragement and support from his grandmother and uncle. Inspired by the books of Maurice Sendak, Brown decided to pursue his ambition of becoming an illustrator. After receiving a B.F.A. in painting from the Cleveland Institute of Art, he worked as a TV art director, a professor of mechanical drawing, and a freelance illustrator, before becoming a writer. In his books, he addresses the fears and problems which children face and events like friendship, family, school and pets. For his illustrations, Brown uses pencil with watercolor on a variety of papers to achieve different visual effects. The "Arthur" series, about the everyday adventures of a lovable aardvark, began in 1976 and continues to this day with 25 titles published. Brown has also created other series such as the "Rhymes" series, and the nonfiction "Dinosaur" series, which conveys messages of do's and don'ts. These series, like the stories of Arthur, hold the attention of young children while transporting their imaginations on magical journeys.

Arthur Learns Money Management

I've been a fan of the Arthur series since I was a kid and I love sharing them with my daughter and second grade class. In this story, Arthur sees an ad for a puppy Treat Timer that feeds Pal treats by itself and he works hard to earn the money to buy it and like most junk in infomercials, the product didn't work well and he'd wasted his money.

I love the underlying sense of humor and the beautiful illustrations, but what I love most is the lessons in the story: 1. Be careful with handling money and learn how to save/spend it wisely and 2. Don't be fooled by persuasive ads. Another great story by Marc Brown with a great lesson for kids!

These Arthur Chapter books are great. It covers most of what was in the T.V. show. Fun and entertaining story. You get to know the characters and the drawings, just like the show, are adorable.

I am happy to announce that I was contacted by the company and able to get a refund because it had been listed wrong. Could've been much better

I thought the author (Ernesto Che Guevara) was actually quite articulate and capable of writing very well. I however did not like most of the format of the novel. I understand that it was the way it was actually written but the idea that he changed some of his journal after he had gotten older and decided to add parts explaining the political background and history of many of the cities took away from the overall journey that these two had.

Half the book was a tribute to Che which was just unnecessary fluff. The diary itself was pretty interesting - what a great adventure. The end, about how Che became a revolutionary, seemed to come a bit suddenly after the adventure story. I'm glad I read it as a way to better understand Che but I don't think I'll read it again.

This set of 21 games taught principles of modern logic. Players learned to combine grammatically correct logical statements called well-formed formulae (WFFs) into logical proofs. WFF 'N Proof was developed by Layman E. Allan of Yale University Law School under a grant from the Carnegie Corporation for ALL (Accelerated Learning of Logic). Allen applied for a trademark for WFF 'N Proof in August 1961; it was registered the following year but has now expired. The game sold from 1962. The set includes 18 wooden cubes with small letters, representing sentences, and 18 with large letters, representing logical rules of inference. The simplest of the games in WFF 'N Proof were designed to teach young children how to arrange these cubes on a series of paper mats to form WFFs. The remaining games were meant to teach how to argue logically. These games involve assuming the truth of WFFs of certain forms and concluding the truth of WFFs of other forms using logical rules of inference. Thus players proved theorems but did not use that terminology. The most advanced of these games were designed to challenge college students. The set also includes a timer, a book of instructions written by Allen, WFF 'N Proof: The Game of Modern Logic (New Haven: Autotelic Instructional Materials Publishers, 1970), and a leaflet describing "Games for Thinkers" from WFF 'N PROOF Publishers of Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania. All these materials are stored in a plastic case that is marked on the cover: WFF'N PROOF (/) The Game of Modern Logic.
